Libra Season

October brings us the second eclipse season of the year, meaning that we can expect some intense times. On Sunday the 15th of October, the solar eclipse in Libra will bring some relationships into deeper connection and commitment, and will find others separating. There will be a focus around authenticity in relationships.

This eclipse is also likely to bring back people from your past. It inspires reunions. It may even bring back news of the past or take you on a journey of nostalgia.

Some other significant dates to keep in mind are the 9th and 12th of October as the solar eclipse approaches. On the 9th, Mars squares Pluto bringing impulsive and fiery action. Try to avoid flying off the handle or making rash decisions. On the 12th, Mars enters Scorpio, adding to the energy of conflict. Be conscious to remain calm. Don't worry, this energy resolves very quickly on the 13th, preparing you for the energy of the eclipse and the desire for stability and authenticity it brings.

  • If you see something beautiful in another person, let them know.

  • If it doesn't enhance your life, it doesn't belong in your life.

  • Never let the fear of losing keep you from being in the game.

Card For The Month

death & rebirth

The message this month is that if a door closes, let it stay closed. Where you have been trying to make things work in the past with little or no success, stop. As you enter October, you are being called into a place of acceptance. Accepting that some situations have finished their journey in your life.

It’s time to embrace the present and focus forward. The tiredness, the grief and the pain are behind you now. Let them stay there. They have nothing more to offer you. The question for October…. what does your heart really want now?

  • Only make promises you know you can and want to keep.

  • If people throw stones in your way, gather them up and build an empire.

  • Where you come from does not matter. It's where you are going that counts.

Self Love Check In

October will bring relationships into the spotlight. How we interact with others, tells us so much about who we are.

October urges you to embrace self respect in all your relationships. Say “no” to what drains you, uses you, disrespects you, tries to control you, and say “yes” to yourself.

You are likely to find yourself detaching from some and getting closer to others, as you recognise which relationships allow you to love yourself more as opposed to those that feed any insecurities and keep you in a place of disempowerment.

Choose you and choose the people that choose you just the way you are, because YOU ARE AMAZING!

Breathe

The awareness around breath work has found incredible growth in recent times and for good reason. Your breath is your passport to deeper realms within you. It is a tool for healing, clearing, grounding, intuition, self empowerment, and more. You can access it anywhere and anytime.

Amazingly, we find ourselves using the power of the breath intuitively. Think of those times you sigh. By taking that deeper breath, you are grounding, clearing and releasing negativity that you have picked up on. It’s not something you consciously do. You just do it because your body recognises energy shifts and knows what you need.

There are a wealth of breathing techniques to explore. With October being a month of forward motion and new direction, engaging in breath work will help you to navigate through the changes that will take place in your life with greater ease. Engaging in these breathing techniques gives you a sense of power over your experiences, feelings, emotions, and thoughts. It enables you to release anxiety by taking control of your being.

To get started on your breath work journey, breathe as you normally would and place one hand on your stomach and one on your chest. Which hand moves first as you breathe? If you are chest breathing, you are more likely to stressed in some way. If you are belly breathing, you are more likely to be in more relaxed state. Focus on belly breathing to release anxiety and to bring you into a place of calmness. (Keep in mind that there are places where chest breathing has a purpose, such as when we are exercising.)

To come into deeper relaxation and release anxiety, slow your breathing right down, breathe deep, pause between breaths, and exhale longer than you inhale. Allow your tongue to sit at the top of your mouth and breathe through your nose.

As you begin your breath work journey, keep in mind that everybody is different. What works for one may not work for another, and we have different physical make ups that make some things possible and others not. Embrace what feels right for you. For the month of October simply pay attention to your breath. Observe it and adopt some of the very simple tips that allow you to come into a comfortable place with working with your breathing. When you are ready, there is a wealth of techniques readily available for you to go deeper into enhancing your breathing to transform your life.
